Duties & Responsibilities

    Own upstream supply creation across the region to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply
    Lead sourcing and contracting, including supplier selection and commercial negotiations
    Manage supplier performance and supply risk, ensuring continuity and compliance
    Oversee inbound and cross-border logistics, including freight and customs coordination
    Drive procurement governance and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimisation
    Ensure inbound service reliability to support uninterrupted site operations
    Control cash outflow through disciplined procurement planning and execution
    Act as the regional escalation point for procurement and logistics issues

Skills and Competencies

    Strong regional procurement and sourcing expertise, including contract negotiation
    Solid cross-border and inbound logistics capability within African / emerging markets
    Proven ability to manage supplier performance, risk, and service reliability
    Strong understanding of procurement governance, compliance, and TCO optimisation
    Commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to manage cash outflow through disciplined procurement
    High level of analytical and problem-solving ability in complex, remote environments
    Confident communicator, able to engage and influence across cultures and senior stakeholders
    Strong leadership capability across multi-country and multi-site teams
    High integrity, resilience, and accountability, with a strong governance mindset
    Comfortable operating under pressure and adapting to changing regional conditions

Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
    8–10 years’ relevant experience in procurement and/or supply chain management
    Proven experience in multi-country and multi-site operations, preferably within African or emerging markets
    Demonstrated experience in cross-border and inbound logistics
    Strong exposure to supplier negotiations, contracting, and procurement governance
    Experience managing procurement in complex or remote operating environments
    ERP experience (e.g. SAGE X3 or similar procurement / P2P systems)
    Ability to converse fluently in English; French language capability required for roles covering the Franco region
    Willingness and ability to travel regionally as required
    Expat candidates preferred, unless a suitably strong local candidate is identified
