The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally
displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water,sanitation and hygiene sectors.

The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world's largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs

NRC is therefore seeking a Protection Technical Assistant for the NRC Office in Mtendeli/Kakonko-Kigoma, Tanzania. The Protection Technical Assistant will report to the Protection Officer

Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Kirundi and/or Kiswahili is an asset.
A Diploma/University degree in law, social science, political science or related subject will be considered.

Personal qualities

At least 2 years' experience in working in a protection-related field including knowledge of humanitarian principles and minimum protection standards, applying protection standards to vulnerable beneficiaries, referral services, delivering training and awareness raising programs and writing reports/providing information on protection-related themes.
Experience in mainstreaming protection concepts within a humanitarian operation particularly valued.
Advanced computer skills, especially in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Fluency in written and spoken Kirundi, Kiswahili/Ha, French essential and ability to work in English necessary.
