The company has a vision of becoming a highly reputable consulting firm in Tanzania and the Eastern and Southern Africa region. Its mission is to deliver high quality consulting services for the development and promotion of the agriculture sector focusing on small and medium enterprise development, projects and programs management and private sector development in general. The Company has its office in Dar-es-salaam.

Diligent Consulting Ltd is looking for a dynamic professional Business Development Manager to run its office in Dar-es-salaam with the following role and responsibilities;

Business Development Manager

Reporting to the Managing Director

To manage the overall business development operations of the company on a daily basis. This will entail the search for consulting assignments and management of bidding processes for the company.
To manage the consulting operations including developing concepts notes, expressions of interest and associated bidding documents for assignment tendering.
To manage the administrative support offered by the office to consultants and associate consultants and ensure timely delivery of their assignments.
To manage business promotion including developing promotional materials and promotional tools such as improving the existing website as well as identifying marketing opportunities for the company businesses.
To prepare annual plans and revenue goals/targets and laying strategies to meet them.
To maintain and develop fruitful relationships with clients and stakeholders.
To develop and continuously improve organizational policies and procedures for human resource, finance, administration and management for consulting operations.
To support the Managing Director in recruiting and managing staff to meet the needs of the company as it grows.
To prepare timely and periodic management reports on the overall performance of the company’s consulting operations and financial performance.
To ensure the company complies with all legal and tax obligations with respect to its consulting operations.
To be the Secretary to the Board in support of the Board of Directors.
To undertake any other duties as may be called upon by the Managing Director and The Board of Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Preferably, the candidate should possess a minimum qualification of a Bachelors Degree in either of the following fields: Business Administration, Business Management, Agribusiness Management or Economics from a reputable and recognized University.
Must have participated in consultancy or development research work for a minimum of three years with proven abilities by way of sample report outputs including relevant experience in managing events, meetings, clients and must have prior experience in writing quality reports. Graduates with good interpersonal relationship skills, negotiating skills, ability to learn fast with proven good communication abilities, both writing and spoken, are encouraged to apply. The application should be supported by two referees who the applicant has worked with in similar consulting, development research or academic assignments.
