The Bank of Tanzania, an equal opportunity employer and Tanzania’s Central Bank, is
looking
for suitably qualified young Tanzanian citizens of high personal integrity to fill the following
vacant position at the Head Office and at its Branches in Mwanza, Mbeya, Arusha, Zanzibar,
Mtwara, Dodoma and Training Institute, Mwanza.

Position: Driver III -11 Posts
Reports to: Head of Division
Contract type: Unspecified period

Job Purpose:
To carry out a range of motor vehicle driving duties and ensure passengers reach their
destination safely and materials are delivered timely.

Key Performance Areas:
a) Drive motor vehicles and motor cycles by following driving procedures, traffic
rules and regulations.
b) Maintain and keep an up to date log books.
c) Adhere to maintenance schedules.
d) Keep motor vehicles/motor cycles in good running conditions and report
immediately on faults and defects to Transport Officer.
e) Perform minor maintenance tasks on assigned vehicles/motor cycles as required.
f) Ensure that valid documents and equipment are available/obtained prior to
commencing any journey.
g) Ensure safety and cleanliness of vehicles and motor cycles at all times.
h) Take care of the vehicles / motor cycles assigned by carrying out standard checks.
i) Perform messenger duties such as dispatching documents /letters; collecting
mails e.t.c.
j) Perform other related duties as may be assigned by Supervisor/Officer in charge.
Education/Professional Qualifications Required:
a) Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with passes in English and Kiswahili;
b) A valid Class C Driving Licence;
c) A driving Certificate from the National Institute of Transport (NIT) or Vocational

Education Training Authority (VETA)

General Conditions:

i. Certified copies of Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates.
ii. Certified driving Certificate from the National Institute of Transport (NIT) or
Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA);
iii. Certified birth certificate.
iv. One recent passport size.
d) Form IV and form VI results slips are not accepted.
e) Applicant should indicate two reputable referees with their reliable contacts.
f) Certificates for ordinary and advanced level education from foreign examination
bodies must be evaluated by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
g) Applicants are required to disclose relevant information in their applications. Giving
false or incomplete information will lead to disqualification at any time during the
recruitment process or after appointment.
