Description
Adili High School is located at Moshono Ward, Arusha City. It runs Arts, Science, and Commercial Subjects for both “O” and: “A” levels. The school is inviting applications for the post of headmaster which will fall vacant from 1st January 2018.

Job Summary
The headmaster will be in overall in charge of the school for both ensuring administrative and academic excellence and will be reporting to the school Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

Hold and articulate clear school’s values and moral purpose focused on providing a class education to the students and reflecting the character of the school.
Demonstrate optimistic personal behavior, positive relationships and attitudes towards the students, staff, parents and members of the local and wider community.
Demanding ambitious standards of achievement, support and challenge, instilling a strong sense of accountability in staff for the impact of their work on students’ outcomes.
Ensure that all those involved in the school are committed to its aims, motivated to achieve them, and involved in meeting long, medium and short term objectives and targets which secure the educational success of the school.
Promote creativity, innovation and the use of appropriate new technologies to achieve excellence.
Maintain sound procedures for the security, supervision and maintenance of the school environment, ensure that all Health and Safety regulations are met.
Provide educational leadership which includes staff development and growth, curriculum implementation and evaluation and implementation of development and growth, curriculum implementation and evaluation and implementation of comprehensive plan for the school.
Build and maintain a high performance culture leading to high standards of teaching and learning throughout the school and hold the school accountable for student achievement.
Streamline an effective administrative and management structure that can effectively utilize the resources to run day to day affairs of the school.
Culture with other schools, agencies and partners (especially with the schools with higher performance) continue to build effective learning to promote excellence in teaching and learning.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant academic field.
  • At least 8 years experience including 3 years education administrative experience and 5 years secondary Headmaster or Deputy Headmaster.
  • Proven successful leadership and management experience at least in a senior team or Headmaster or Deputy Headmaster will be added advantages.
  • Recent and relevant training and professional development in relation to secondary school curriculum, management, teaching and learning will be an added advantage.
