the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. 22 kms south of Moshi Municipality

POST: 1. RADIOGRAPHER(1Post)

1.0 Reports to the Hospital Manager

1.1 Core Job Description: To deal with day to day Radiographer duties and responsibilities.

1.2 Key Accountabilities
1.2.1 Preparing examination rooms, positioning patients for imaging exams.
1.2.2 Assessing and monitoring patients through treatment and follow-up.
1.2.3 Working closely with medical specialists to plan treatment of tissues defects.
1.2.4 Screening of abnormalities.
1.2.5 Producing and interpreting high quality images of the body to identify and diagnose injury and disease.
1.2.6 Asses patients and their requirements to work out which radiographic techniques to use.
1.2.7 Take responsibilities for radiation safety in your work area, including checking equipment for malfunctions and errors.
1.2.8 Manage referrals to ensure patients receive radiation dose as low as reasonable possible.
1.2.9 Supervising staff and patients in radiation work areas.
1.2.10 Provide support and reassurance to patience, taking into account their physical and psychological needs.
1.2.11 Documenting information with computers.

1.3 Core Competencies
Should demonstrate ability to provide high quality diagnostic imaging services, planning and giving treatment using x-rays and other radioactive resources.

1.4 Personal Specifications
Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography with Sonography must be registered by Tanganyika Medical Imaging and Radiology Council. A combination of relevant certified academic certificates. He/she must possess computer skills and should have at least 2 years working experience.
