We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant with experience supervising the development and implementation of rigorous studies in low and middle-income country (LMIC) settings in the field of water, sanitation and hygiene, with a particular focus on behavioural science and implementation issues.
The successful applicant will have a MSc in public health, international development, or related, considerable experience of working in WASH and public health in low-income settings, excellent computational skills using statistical packages such as Stata, SPSS, excellent skills in writing study results and findings in reports and papers suitable for publication in peer-reviewed journals, excellent command of written and spoken Swahili, eligibility and willingness to work in Tanzania. This part-time post (0.6 FTE), based in Tanzania, is funded by the Department for International Development for a period of 12 months initially. The appointment will be made on LSHTM’s Academic Pathway Grade 5 scale in the range £33,006 to £37,889 (inclusive of London Weighting).  
 
The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this, there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
