COO Tanzania (m/f) based in Arusha

With a strong background in strategic business planning and operations
Location: Arusha, Tanzania
As COO you will drive all aspects of the operations strategy, planning and day-to-day management of our fast growing operations in Tanzania with around 350 employees. As one of the key players within the Mobisol management team, you will be responsible for:
  • Strategic planning and operational performance: Driving the success and efficiency of Operations through strategic planning and effective execution (incl. process development)
  • Leadership and High performing logistics network: Enabling business growth through maintaining an efficient logistics infrastructure, including stock management and countrywide distribution of stock.
  • Enabling growth: Participate in shaping the company’s growth strategy and contribute in rolling out the operations to a countrywide service coverage.
  • Technical services and customer satisfaction: Ensuring a great customer experience and high product quality through an excellent Service Network and perfectly reliable Technical Operations.
  • Excellence through training: Ensuring Mobisol’s success through country-wide competitive contractor training programs provided by the in-house training institute “MAKIE"
  • Operations Management: Leading by example through regular communication and reporting across all relevant departments and country-wide zones
  • Operations Excellence: Constantly improve the company’s efficiency and reduce operational waste through constant review and implementation of best practices (kaizen, 5S, 6Sigma, etc.)
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure highest level of Customer Satisfaction at all customer interfaces.
In addition, you will oversee the risk management and budget planning for the Operations departments, ensuring close alignment with the Mobisol Headquarters to enable controlled and healthy further growth.
Your Qualification
This challenging position requires a seasoned manager with proven business acumen and a strong track record in logistics or operational management, ideally in a rapidly growing industry. You should hold an academic degree in business administration or industrial engineering, have six or more years of working experience, and possess sound knowledge and experience in general management, business planning, and the development and execution of processes. Operational experiences in logistics or sales or service in a B2C context will be very much appreciated. As an individual, you pursue a systematic, structured and reliable way of working. In addition to your affinity to strategic business planning, you possess a hands-on approach as well as pronounced social competencies for teamwork and people management. You are target driven and dynamic, and you consider your work an important contribution to the development of the entire enterprise.
