Position: Building and Infrastructure Business Developer

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth
Identify and qualify new market opportunities in building, infrastructure, and construction sectors
Develop and execute targeted business development strategies for assigned geographic regions or industry verticals with focus on Tanzania
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects and leads
Negotiate contracts and close new business agreements
Achieve and exceed assigned revenue and growth targets
Client Relationship Management
Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key clients, architects, contractors, and project owners
Serve as primary point of contact for assigned accounts
Conduct needs assessments and propose tailored Bureau Veritas solutions
Ensure client satisfaction and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities
Market & Technical Knowledge
Develop deep understanding of building codes, standards (ISO, IEC, local regulations), and infrastructure compliance requirements
Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes
Translate technical BV services into business value propositions
Conduct presentations and technical briefings to prospective clients
Collaboration & Reporting
Work cross-functionally with delivery teams, operations, and management
Provide market intelligence and feedback to inform service development
Prepare business development reports, forecasts, and performance metrics
Contribute to strategic planning and business reviews
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field
Over 8 years of business development, sales, or account management experience in construction, infrastructure, or related industries
Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and closing significant deals
Experience with building certification, inspection, testing, or compliance services (preferred)
Skills & Competencies
Sales & Negotiation: Strong closing ability and contract negotiation skills
Technical Acumen: Understanding of building standards, codes, and infrastructure requirements
Relationship Building: Ability to establish trust and develop long-term partnerships
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication; presentation skills
Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify market gaps and develop growth strategies
CRM Proficiency: Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
Analytical Skills: Data-driven approach to forecasting and pipeline management

Self-motivated and results-oriented
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic market
Professional demeanor and strong ethical standards
Willingness to travel (estimated 30-40%)
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or advanced business certification
Experience in testing, inspection, or certification (TIC) industry
Knowledge of sustainability certifications (LEED, BREEAM, etc.)
Multilingual capabilities
Existing relationships within the building/infrastructure sector
