We are hiring - Account Manager
Abstrat Ltd is looking for a PR Account Manager to support delivery across client service, media relations, strategic communication, and event management.
This role is suited for someone who understands the Tanzanian corporate environment, has media knowledge, writes well, and can manage communication work across both public and private sector clients. You will support campaigns from planning to execution and ensure work is delivered clearly, accurately, and on time.
Key responsibilities
Support client service across multiple accounts, ensuring work is well coordinated and delivered to standard.
Develop and support communication strategies and plan aligned to client objectives and market context.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with print, broadcast, and digital media.
Develop content including press releases, feature stories, newsletters, briefing notes, and social media content.
Support proposal development and pitch preparation through research, writing, and presentation input.
Coordinate media outreach and follow ups to secure relevant coverage.
Support event concept development, planning and execution, including coordination with suppliers and partners.
Prepare reports on media coverage, performance, and communication outcomes.
Track timelines, deliverables, and next steps to keep work organised and accountable.
Work confidently across Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and digital platforms used for communication and reporting.
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
3 to 5 years experience in public relations, communications, media, or agency account management.
Fluent in English and Swahili, with strong writing ability in both.
Skills and attributes
Strong media relations skills and understanding of the Tanzanian media landscape.
Clear writing and editing ability across different formats.
Good research skills and ability to turn information into practical insights.
Strong organisation and coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Confidence working with suppliers and external partners.
Professional use of Microsoft Office tools.
Comfort using digital platforms and social media in a professional context.
Strong interpersonal skills and a professional approach to teamwork and client service.
