Job Purpose

To provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mission-critical business applications, while collaborating with IT teams, vendors, and end-users to ensure seamless business operations.


Main Responsibilities

    Analyze business and technical requirements to translate them into functional and technical specifications.
    Design, develop, configure, and maintain enterprise software applications and system integrations between enterprise applications and other systems.
    Develop and customize software components, scripts, APIs, and workflows to support enterprise systems
    Perform application enhancements, bug fixes, and system optimizations to improve performance and reliability
    Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
    Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, integration issues, and production incidents
    Maintain technical documentation, including system designs, code changes, and support procedures
    Ensure software development aligns with enterprise architecture, security standards, and best practices
    Provide Level 2 technical support for enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HRMS, Email Systems, etc.) within the bank.
    Assist in ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise systems in line with SLAs.
    Support internal teams and vendors in patching, upgrades, and enhancements of enterprise applications.
    Participate in high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) readiness activities for critical systems.
    Monitor license usage and support optimization to ensure cost-effective utilization of systems.
    Apply standardized security controls such as access management, encryption, and patching within enterprise applications.
    Help implement actions to manage risks identified within the bank’s Enterprise Risk Framework.
    Support root cause analysis (RCA) and assist in implementing preventive measures to avoid recurring issues.
    Contribute to innovation, testing, and proof-of-concept activities to improve system efficiency.
    Monitor and tune enterprise systems for performance, scalability, and efficiency under guidance.
    Research emerging technologies, standards, and best practices to support future strategies.
    Act as a technical contact for projects affecting enterprise applications, ensuring business requirements are understood and supported.


Knowledge and Skills

    Knowledge of software development and application support practices, including troubleshooting, testing, and change management
    Foundational understanding of enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, and related platforms.
    Foundational knowledge of both Windows and Linux environments, including licensing models.
    Proficiency in managing and administering Microsoft on-premises and cloud services (e.g., Azure, Active Directory, Exchange Online).
    Understanding of application, database, and middleware security fundamentals.
    Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English and Swahili.
    Demonstrable honesty, integrity, and credibility; ability to engender the trust and confidence of internal constituency and external partners.
    Ability to communicate complex concepts in easy-to-understand business language.


Qualifications and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
    Preferred professional certifications include ITIL, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or any other relevant certifications.
    At least 3 years of relevant work experience in managing on-prem and Cloud Directory Services, Mail Systems, Microsoft O365, Enterprise Applications.
    Experience of DevOps practices is required.
    Experience in managing large-scale IT Projects.
    Experience in protecting applications, systems, and data.
