The Purpose of Work:

Responsible to develop, customize and maintain efficient, flexible, cost effective and sustainable in-house software solutions as well as critical software for our clients, to

support the Bank processes and products

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside an existing team of senior and intermediate developers. Projects will range from small, distinct pieces of work to long-term program engagements.
  • Quickly learn the programming languages and frameworks in place, and work with your designated Senior
  • Developer mentor to deliver great quality features on assigned projects.
  • Development of new software and web applications; modify and enhance existing software and web applications for the bank and customers within expected time, quality and completion metrics.
  • Test software and ensure that completed work correctly meets requirements and is in accordance with agreed designs.
  • Work in conjunction with other developers on development projects
  • Work with Senior Developers to ensure code is managed and controlled according to the source control strategy for the project in question.
  • Research new technologies from time to time, specifically where they relate to the strategic direction of the business, or current client projects.
  • Adherence to software development best practices and compliance with the instructions of the Senior Software Developer are always expected.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge on the trending web and mobile application technologies in the market
  • Experience in developing with two of the following languages; C#/.Net, PHP, Java and Objective-C/Swift (added advantage)
  • Experience with web application technologies including; CSS3, HTML 5 and JQuery/JavaScript
  • Experience with the following tools; GIT, NetBeans IDE/Eclipse, Visual Studio and Android Studio

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • At least 2 years of software development experience
  • Experience in banking environment is an added advantage
