Role Purpose
The Regulatory and Privacy Specialist is responsible for, inter alia:

  • Facilitating timely completion of all the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Deliverables across the company whilst managing resources, deadlines & budgetary requirements as required for the wave 2 markets,
  • Ensuring compliance with the privacy laws, privacy policy and all other privacy requirements across the business,
  • Ensuring compliance with the key regulatory requirements and/or the regulatory compliance programme/matrix across the company.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
  • Supporting the Privacy Officer to deliver GDPR project and all its defined milestones by facilitating timely completion of all deliverables across business functions whilst managing resources, deadlines and budgetary requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with Privacy program which includes review and update of the all privacy policies & procedures, training, communicate the policy to all relevant stakeholders and ensure that the business complies with the key privacy requirements
  • To prepare and update regularly regulatory compliance programme, liaise with the line management to ensure and/or guide compliance thereof and assist the line management on all regulatory matters of the Company
Must Have Technical/professional Qualifications
  • A holder of Bachelor of Laws from a recognized university,
  • A Registered Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and Courts sub-ordinate thereto for not less that 5 yrs experience,
Core Competencies, Knowledge And Experience
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on the lowest level of detail and assess the impact at the macro level
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong mix and combination of legal/regulatory skills as well as privacy skills. Not less than 3 yrs experience
  • Passion for the role: Exhibit enthusiasm and a can-do attitude about work and deliver
  • Not less than 3 years’ experience in handling legal/regulatory matters
  • Experience in handling privacy matters for not less than at least 3 years
