Applications are invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions at
the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) situated at Chang'ombe. Temeke District in Dar es Salaam.Job Title: Assistant Lecturer (3 posts) 
Area of Specialization 
(i) Faculty of Education 
• Education (Literature Teaching Methods) (1 post) 
Applicant must be a holder of MEd, or MA(Ed) with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a Minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent with a Minimum score of B+ or its equivalent in Literature Subject in the First Degree. 

(ii) Faculty of Science 
• Pure/Applied Mathematics (1 post) 
• Chemistry (Inorganic Chemistry) (1 post) 

(a) Qualifications: 
Applicant must be a holder of Master's Degree in a relevant field with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a Minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent with a Minimum score of By or its equivalent in the Relevant Subject in the First Degree. 

(b) Duties and Responsibilities: 
(i) To undergo an induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before; 
(ii) To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate programmes;
(iii) To prepare and present case studies; 
(iv) To conduct and publish/ disseminate research results; (v) To recognize students having difficulties, intervene and provide help and support: (vi) To participate in consultancies and community services under supervision; (vii) To attend workshops, conferences and symposia, and
(viii) To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities. 

(c) Salary Scale: PUTS 2.1NOTE: 
(i) All applicants must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania; 
(ii) Women are encouraged to apply;

(iv) Testimonials, Partial Transcripts and Result Slips shall not be accepted; 
(v) Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the Curriculum Vitae shall necessitate legal action; 
(vi) Certificates from foreign examination bodies for ordinary and advanced level of secondary education should be certified by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA); 
(vii) Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU), and; (viii) Only shortlisted candidates will be informed on the date of interview.
