The Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) was established under the Public
Corporations Act No. 17 of 1969 by a Presidential Order through Government Notice

number 115, published on 25th August, 1978. The Centre is wholly owned by the
Government of United Republic of Tanzania and operates under the purview of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.
The AICC was established to manage and control the Headquarters’ complex of the
defunct East African Community in Arusha which belonged to the defunct East African
Community. It also owns Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre as per
Arusha International Conference Centre (Amendment) Order of 2014, dated 19th March,
2014; and provide facilities and services on the complex for purposes of conferences,
meetings, seminars etc.


The Centre invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill in the below
mentioned vacant post:-

1. ASSISTANT LABORATORY TECHNICIAN II (TWO POSTS)
Answerable to Laboratory Technician
Qualifications
(a) Entry Qualifications
Holder of form IV/VI Academic Certificate with two years Laboratory
Certificate or equivalent qualification from a recognized Centre/institution with
at least three years’ experience in a similar position.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain cleanliness in the laboratory, equipment and glassware
2. To keep record of laboratory tests
3. To perform laboratory tests
4. Preparing re-agents for routine examination of patients
5. Carrying out diagnostic procedures
6. Maintaining laboratory records and avail them upon request by appropriate
authority
7. Assisting Senior Laboratory Technician in various fields of operation
8. Performing any other duties relevant to the scope of work that may be assigned
by the supervisor

2. Receptionist II (ONE POST)
Answerable to Matron
(a) Direct Entry Qualifications
Holder of Form IV/VI certificate with pass in English and Kiswahili who has undergone the
Receptionist course at a recognized institution
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
(i) To operate and maintain switch board
(ii) To monitor ,receive and manage the front desk visitors
(iii) To keep visitors register book
(iv) To receive and channel incoming telephone calls and internal telephone requests;
(v) To direct office visitors to officers in question
(vi) To keep telephone call register
(vii) To report defective telephone facilities
(viii) To perform any duties relevant to the scope of work that may be assigned by the
supervisor.
