Jikomboe Integral Development Association (JIDA) is a non-governmental, non-

political and non-profit making organization, formed in 1999, registered officially, by the Ministry of Home Affairs, in November 2000, Under societies ordinance of 1954, with a certificate of registration SO. NO. 10676
JIDA has its headquarters in Tabora municipality with field offices in Igunga, Nzega districts for effective operation.

The major aim of JIDA is to promote human development by fighting against all sorts of development constraints as well as offering relief Services to Most vulnerable and marginalized groups. The organizational emphasis is on promoting human development depending basically on local initiatives and locally available resources
Among other programs JIDA expects to receive support from USAID through Pact Tanzania to implement a USAID New Generation (Kizazi Kipya) project in Igunga and Uyui Districts (Tabora Region). The program involves giving support to Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), by mobilizing community members to help the children. The program is one of the most challenging programs that need young, energetic and committed people.
JIDA is therefore looking for a young energetic person who will work under the program as Health and HIV Services Officer for the coming 6 months (renewable contract). Below are the job requirements and descriptions:

Job Title: Health and HIV Services Officer (1 Position)
Station: IgungaReporting to: Project Manager
Roles and Responsibilities

 Link JIDA with Igunga District Council’s Health Management Team in all HIV and health related activitieses
 Hold monthly meetings with Care and Treatment Centers (CTCs) to support shared confidentiality, facilitate case conferencing, improve the bi-directional referral system and ensure HIV positive beneficiaries receive needed services..
 Support Early Childhood Development (ECD) at targeted health facilities, including regular monitoring and supportive supervision
 Support Community Case Workers (CCWs) to work with high pediatric volume CTCs to trace HIV positive OVC who miss appointments, enroll them into Kizazi Kipya project and link them back to CTC..
 Support CCWs to conduct HIV risk assessment for OVC during case management, refer and link at risk OVC to HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC).
  Schedule quarterly Reproductive Health Education outreaches to teen clubs and organize HTC outreaches for adolescents with high risk behaviors.
 Work with EGPAF to roll out a supplemental HIV curriculum to CCWs and ensure CCWs provide appropriate support to HIV positive OVC and care givers.s.
 Support CCWs to strengthen the capacity of care givers to support HIV positive OVC and ensure CCWs refer HIV positive OVC and care givers to PLHIV support groups.ps.
 Ensure screening of care givers for depression and link them to appropriate servicesces
 Support the roll out of evidence based curriculums relating to HIV.
 Support the establishment of a bi-directional referral system to monitor beneficiaries through the HIV continuum of care as well as service completion for other health and social services..
 Monitor implementation, bottlenecks, and performance metrics of the bi-directional referral system; proactively offer solutions, conduct quality improvement activities and implement adjustments to improve referral outcomes.
-Coordinate quarterly district level quality improvement meetings with relevant bi-directional system stakeholders; ensure actions from the meetings are implemented and the bi-directional system is improved.
 Work with the Me M&E officer to ensure all bi-directional referral data is accurate and produced weekly.
 Lead the development of a service directory for health, nutrition and HIV services in the implementation area; update the directory at least once a year.
 Support CCWs to conduct nutrition activities, including nutrition assessments, counseling and linkage to other nutrition serviceproviders.
 Provide continuous supportive supervision to CCWs to ensure provision of health-related services and referrals and linkages to beneficiaries.
 Submit timely update to the Project Manager for inclusion in the quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports of the project.
 Document lessons learnt and best practices for experience sharing and replication.
 Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the management.

Skills and experience:

 The ideal candidate must have at least 1-year experience working with Orphans and Vulnerable Children or Most Vulnerable Children and their care givers/parents in the areas of health, education, social support, nutrition and protection.
 Work experience in health education including water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), HIV infection prevention
 Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Proficiency in MS PowerPoint will be an added advantage..  Report writing and publication skills.ls.
  Excellent presentation and facilitation skillslls  Good command in both English and Kiswahili
 Ability to work effectively with multiple teams, partner agencies and community members.
 Availability and willingness to travel up to 50% of working days

Academic qualifications:

The applicant must possess a Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma in Public Health, Nursing, Sociology, community Development, Social work or Clinical medicine from institutions registered or recognized by the Government of Tanzania. Living in Igunga will be an added advantage.
