Job Description

Dexis is seeking an experienced Procurement Technician/Agent to provide procurement support services to the Management and Administrative Support Services (MASS) contract with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Tanzania Mission. The work location for this position will be in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This is a full-time position. The start date for this position is o/a May 1, 2017 and is an anticipated 18-month assignment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Office (EXO) to manage Mission deadlines and facilitate requests through their complete procurement lifecycle according to priority assigned
• Initiate and track Buyer and Requester procurement actions in USAID’s Global Acquisition and Assistance System (GLAAS), maintaining a tracking system of all procurement documents by the requestor in GLAAS
• Identify and post procurement solicitations and other notices, organize and coordinate technical evaluation committees, and support negotiation and documentation of contracts
• Coordinate effectively with various offices within the Mission to ensure effective and compliant procurement procedures and resolve issues as they arise, including (but not limited to) OAA, the Executive Office, and the Office of Financial Management
• Perform any other duties as requested by the client or supervisor

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, finance, law or other field relevant to procurement or equivalent work experience
• Five years’ experience in procurement
• Two years’ experience in U.S. federal contracting either in the U.S. Federal Government or as a contractor for the U.S. Government
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Fluency in spoken and written English

Economist, Tanzania Data for Development

Description

Dexis is seeking an experienced Economist to fulfill a Performance Evaluation of Development Objective 2. This evaluation will be a part of the upcoming multi-year contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Tanzania Mission called Data for Development. This contract will provide monitoring and evaluation (M&E) technical services for the USAID/Tanzania. This position expected to start in latter half of 2017. This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design, planning, and implementation of the evaluation throughout the three phases.

Qualifications :

• Possess a Ph.D in economics, international development, social science, or a related field.
• At least 10+ years of professional experience and an understanding of issues related to sustainable economic development.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills, supervision, and management skills; and an ability to work with and lead diverse teams.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili is required.
• Previous experience working in Tanzania or East Africa is preferred.
