Iringa Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (IRUWASA) is a Government Institution which has the duty of providing potable water and sanitation services at affordable prices to the residents of Iringa Municipality for enhancing their health and quality of life. In order to achieve the compact objectives, IRUWASA now seeks applications from suitably qualified
Tanzanians who are self-motivated, hardworking, honest and committed to their work to fill the following positions:-
2.0 ASSISTANT TECHNICIAN GRADE II – 1 VACANCY
The successful candidate will work in Technical Department under Section of Water Production, Maintenance and Repair.
2.1 Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Operates the water pumps according to agreed schedules.
(ii) Monitors water levels in the storage water reservoirs.
(iii) Makes and maintains housekeeping of water pumps, pump houses and their surroundings.
(iv) Maintains and keeps proper records and reports of pumps performances, faulty water pumps and breakdowns, electric power failures, and the amount of pumped water at established time intervals from clean water storage reservoirs. .
(v) Ensures that the required dosage of water treatment chemicals/reagents is administered according to the required standards.
(vi) Takes meter readings of electricity and water consumptions at established time intervals.
(vii) Ensures cleanliness of water pumps, booster stations and water reservoirs.
(viii) Records pressure gauges performances at established intervals.
(ix) Makes proper reporting on water color changes.
(x) Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
2.2 Academic Qualifications and Age Limit
(i) Holder of Form Four/Six Certificate with Trade Test Grade II/Level II in Pump Mechanics or Mechanics from a recognized learning Institution.
(ii) Age between 20 and 30 years.
2.3 Tenure of Appointment and remuneration
(iii) According to IRUWASA Salary Scale IWAS 2
(iv) Appointment will be on contractual terms (Three years) renewable upon good work performance.
