Health and Safety Officer (Six Positions)
Duty Station : Dar Es Salaam
Report to : Quality Compliance and Safety Manager

Position Objective
Carry out the day to day operations of HSE and contribute to the application of effective health, safety and environmental management by providing technical support. Implement the safety management policies and procedures locally so that all employees have a sate-and healthy working environment ensuring that Swissport complies with all current and future regulations and laws
Report to the Quality Safety and compliance Manager on a functional basis.
Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations
Deliver regular safety performance reports to the Station Management.
Ensure all hazards, incidents are being reported and recorded.
Initiate, lead and any out investigations on occurrences in line with corporate standards and prepare all applicable reports
Plan, prepare and conduct internal safety audits at given intervals at the station and initiate I monitor corrective actions based on audit findings and occurrence investigations.
Assist in compliance reviews, risk assessment and other safety assessments to support HSE management
Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees, customers, and visitors
Observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel
Comply and ensure compliance with all company HSE procedures and policies

Key Duties:
Conduct daily and monthly HSE meetings of Trainings arid schedules as needed
Write, implement, and manage HSE programs, policies, and procedures I
Perform facility Health and Safety inspections
Ensure proper use of PPE
Have knowledge and enforce compliance of regulatory requirements
(OSHA, EWURA, NEMC etc) including company HSE policies and procedures
Oversee hazardous waste storage and disposal areas and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e. labelling, containment, proper disposal, documentation etc
Coordinate emergency response activities and provide first aid treatment
Oversee behavior based/observation safety programs
Help develop job hazard analysis
Conduct self-assessment of the company's safety and health situation
Undertake preventive actions to avoid accidents and incidents from recurring
Analyse damages and ensure implementation of corrective measures
Train staff on Safety and Health issues (prevention)
Deliver regular safety performance reports and ensure all hazards, incidents are being reported and recorded.

Analyse the damage reports and suggest corrective measures in coordination with the Safety and Health Committee.
Undertake self-assessment on DGR and AVI awareness
Ensure implementation of safety management standards within the station
Collect and maintain Safety Data

Academic Qualification
Degree in Environmental Engineering Engineering, or equivalent with specialization in QHSE with minimum of not less than 2 years relevant experience
NEBOSH International General Certificate in OSH
Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate
Knowledgeable in ISO 9001, ISO 14001
Understands the regulatory authorities compliances (OSHA, EWURA,
NEMC)
Report writing skills (Good in Microsoft word, excel and PPT)
