Job Title: Research Coordinator.
Duty station: National TB and Leprosy Program Dar es Salaam.
Reporting to: Program Manager

Purpose of the Job:

To coordinate all TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy related researches in the country

Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks.
To take lead in identifying key TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy priority operational and basic research agenda
Take lead in the formulation of TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy research agenda
To coordinate research and academic institutions and implementing partners in implementing the TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy research agenda
To monitor and keep inventory of all relevant TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy researches in the country
To keep track and inform the program on new technologies in the control of TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy globally
To take lead in representing the MoHSW/NTLP in collaborating with research and academic institutions and implementing partners in the conduct of research
To coordinate the dissemination of research findings both nationally and internationally
To take lead in the translation of research findings into policy and policy into practice
To mobilise resources for the conduct of TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy researches through the development of proposals
Any other duties as assigned by the programme manager

Academic Qualifications and Experience
Medical doctor
Master's degree in Epidemiology, Field Epidemiology or Public Health. Master's Degree in Statistics is added advantage
At least three-years experience in the field of Research
A good knowledge of statistical software package ( STATA, SPSS, Excel, Epi Info, Epi data)
Good command of English and Kiswahili both in writing and speaking
Sound computer skills: Microsoft office applications

Job Title: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Manager
Duty station: National TB and Leprosy Program Dar es salaam.
Reporting to: Program Manager

Purpose of the Job: 
To develop and manage all ICT infrastructure and related human resources within the NTLP

Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks.
To advice the program manager on required ICT equipment and services for the Program.
To install, configure and perform daily required updates/upgrades of all Program's ICT systems and networks i.e computer hardware, computer programs, network systems, websites and file systems.
To provide IT technical support, administration and maintenance to NTLP staff at National, Regional and District levels
To manage the Program's electronic database server to ensure data availability and accessibility while maintaining data security.
To provide technical support on database tools to data entrants at all levels of service delivery through training, supportive supervision and mentorship. .
To train health care workers at all levels on ICT usage
To regularly compile and maintain an accurate inventory of ICT equipment and systems
To Compile quarterly reports on ICT usage and inventories of equipment and systems
9. Any other duties as assigned by the program manager

Academic Qualifications and experience
First degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electronic and Communication
Master's degree in ICT will be an added advantage
Experience in computer and communication systems trouble shooting and maintenance
At least three years experience on designing, developing and managing computer databases,
Good command of English and Kiswahili both in writing and speaking

Job Title: Zonal Reference Tuberculosis(TB) Culture laboratory focal person
Duty stations: TB Zonal Reference laboratory-Mbeya Referral Hospital, Bugando Referral
Hospital, Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital and Kibong'oto National TB Hospital
Reporting to: Hospital Directors in respective duty station.

 
Purpose of the Job:
To coordinate all activities related to TB culture within the respective zone

Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks.
Provides technical support on TB culture related activities at regional and district levels
Supervises timely TB specimen referrals from the satellite laboratories within the zone to the culture zonal laboratory.
Supervises timely referrals of positive TB culture slopes from the culture laboratory for Drug Susceptibility Testing (DST)
Monitors turn around time for specimens sent for culture and DST and timely reporting of patients requiring clinical management
Ensures quality of specimen sent for culture is maintained by organizing trainings, supportive supervisions and mentorships of relevant health care workers.
Ensures implementation of Internal Quality Control for TB culture
Ensures implementation of External Quality Control for TB culture
Ensures Standard Operating procedures and Job AIDS for TB culture are in line with NTLP guidelines.
Prepares and timely shares with the Central Reference Culture Laboratory (CTRL) quarterly Plans of Action for TB culture activities, quarterly and annual report .
Ensures adequate TB culture laboratory supplies through timely quantification and forecasting
Any other duties assigned by the Laboratory manager/Director/Head of laboratory services

Academic Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Medical Laboratory Science plus two years post qualifying experience
Registered with Tanzania Health Laboratory Practitioners Council
Computer literacy - Microsoft office package
Fluent in written and spoken language (English and Swahili)
