Support & Implementation Engineer – Alternate Banking Channels


Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania


Our client, a leading global software solutions provider specializing in delivering innovative banking technology solutions. Is actively currently seeking a Support & Implementation Engineer – Alternate Banking Channels to join their team. Support & Implementation Engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, implementation, and ongoing support of Alternate Banking Channels solutions. The role involves working closely with clients and internal technical teams to ensure successful deployments, timely issue resolution, and high levels of customer satisfaction.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, configure, and deploy Alternate Banking Channels solutions at client sites.
  • Ensure system readiness including software, hardware, and network configurations.
  • Conduct system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate system functionality and performance.
  • Identify, document, and resolve technical issues during implementation and testing phases.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Escalate complex issues to development teams and follow through to resolution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, databases, stored procedures, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Deliver client training and knowledge transfer after successful implementations.
  • Develop and manage implementation plans, timelines, and project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Obtain client sign-off upon successful implementation.
  • Travel to client locations when required for project implementations or technical support.



SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in software implementation, technical support, or banking/fintech systems support.
  • Experience working with digital/alternate banking channels such as mobile banking, internet banking, agency banking, ATM, or payment integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL databases, including writing queries and working with stored procedures.
  • Experience in system integration, APIs, and web services used in banking or fintech platforms.
  • Familiarity with application servers, Linux/Windows environments, and basic networking concepts.
  • Experience supporting core banking, microfinance systems, or payment switching platforms is an added advantage.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, analyze logs, and resolve system integration problems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support and train clients in a technical environment.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites for system implementation and support when required.
