ASSISTANT CHICKEN FARM MANAGER

By this, it has built in Tanzania, the first Grandparent (GP) farms (in the whole of East Africa) and a Parent Stock (PS) hatchery

Job Purpose
To ensure the safety and efficiency of poultry farm operations. In consultation with the leadership, the Assistant manager will prioritize tasks and ensure that all staff in the farm conforms to the laid down SOPs, and agreed work practices to ensure birds comfort and health to meet all set KPIs.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in poultry production, collecting eggs, and maintaining equipment and facilities on poultry farm: Confers with Production Manager to ascertain production requirements and to discuss condition of equipment and status of supplies.
• Assigns workers to duties, such as grading poultry for the best Uniformity, collecting eggs, feeding, vaccinating poultry and cleaning & fumigating chicken houses.
• Trains new workers on their assigned tasks.
• Manage work activities to expedite workload.
• Prepares worker attendance, egg production, feed consumption, and poultry mortality reports.
• Ensure Good stock health is maintained, and Biosecurity procedures are followed.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Key Requirements
• Degree in agriculture or equivalent
• Any specialized training in poultry farming will be an added advantage
• 6+ year of work experience in the poultry field
• Excellent management and team leadership
• Excellent knowledge and skills in the poultry farming
• Good understanding of rules and regulations applicable in the farming sector
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili
