Iringa Urban District is one of the five districts of the Iringa Region of Tanzania. It is bordered to
the north, east, and west by the Iringa Rural District and to the south by the Kilolo District.Iringa Urban Municipality is the administrative designation of the Municipality of Iringa.
Population:
According to the 2012 census, the population of the Iringa Urban District was 151,345.[1]

Iringa has several institutions of higher education, including Tumaini University, Iringa University College, Mkwawa University College of Education (a constituent college of the University of Dar es Salaam), and Ruaha Catholic University College (a constituent college of [[Established by Tanzania Episcopal Conference TEC). Some amongst many Schools found in Iringa include Tosamaganga High School and Ruaha Secondary School.
