BASELINE SURVEY FOR ENHANCING SMALLHOLDER RICE FARMERS
COMPETITIVENESS (ECSR) PROJECT - MOROGORO REGION

Required Skills and Experience
The applicant must meet the following qualifications:
i. At least 5-10 years' experience of conducting similar studies in the agriculture sector. Knowledge of harvest and post-harvest practices of cereals, warehouse management of cereals, and input supply a plus.
ii. Master's Degree in relevant field preferably in agriculture, agricultural economics, statistics or related field (lead consultant)

iii. Strong experience with and knowledge of quantitative research methods, data analysis and presentation
iv. Ability to write high quality, research reports in English
v. Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
vi. Strong knowledge of Tanzanian culture and context

Consultancy: CONDUCT NEEDS/MATURITY ASSESSMENT; DEVELOP BUSINESS TRAINING MODULES AND DELIVER CAPACITY BUILDING FOR RICE VALUE CHAIN ACTORS/MSMEs UNDER THE 'ENHANCING THE COMPETITIVENESS OF SMALLHOLDER RICE FARMERS {ECSR)" PROJECT

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The applicant must meet the following qualifications:
i. At least five years of professional experience in conducting similar studies and capacity building with MSMEs/VCAs in the agriculture sector
ii. At least a master's degree in the field of Agriculture or Business or any other related disciplines
iii. Good knowledge and proven experience in survey design, implementation of surveys, quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and presentation is required
iv. Demonstrated accomplishments in conducting MSME needs assessments and capacity building in Tanzania
v. Ability to write high quality reports in English and to produce high quality training materials in Swahili
vi. Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Kiswahili
vii. Availability of existing MSME training materials adapted for use in Tanzania, a plus

Application Submission Guidelines
The consultant should include the following components in the application:
i. Technical proposal: The consultant/firm shall describe the research design (including sample design) and methodology proposed to achieve required deliverables. This should include both a description of activities and the proposed timeline.
ii. Financial budget: The consultant/firm shall propose a reasonable cost estimate for the assignment, which will include a breakdown of the budget, justification of the expenses and clearly outline level of effort in terms of days.
iii. Experience of the consultant/firm: The consultant/firm shall also provide a description of the capabilities of the firm or individual. This should include a general description of the firm, the technical qualifications of the staff who will work on the assignment, their CVs and relevant previous experience. The consultant/firm shall provide a list of relevant assignments conducted, a brief description of each assignment, attach two reports of similar assignments conducted by them and provide contact details of two references.

Consultancy: Care for Child Development (CCD) Consultant, AKF Tanzania

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in related field (social science, child development, counselling, social work, health, etc.); master's preferred.
  • Completed and facilitated the CCD training course (preferred)
  • Minimum of three years work experience in development in the health and/or child development sectors
Skills and Experience
  • Strong technical expertise and experience in rolling out the UNICEF/WHO developed CCD package
  • Excellent facilitation skills and experience facilitating CCD training
  • Technical knowledge on CCD including prior participation in CCD training
  • Experience in mentoring CCD counsellors in practice
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools and experience using them in implementing development projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent English skills are essential. Swahili language is preferred.
