Sazani Associates is a UK based and Zanzibar registered NGO working to support sustainable livelihoods through education and training. We adopt and implement, asset based approaches to
sustainable development and global learning.
Through our sister organisation , Sazani RD we provide support to the natural resource sector to identify and address social and political risk issues.
Fixed term contract 12 months
Specific Objectives
¬ Support ongoing project delivery of Sazani Associates in Zanzibar.
¬ Coordination of educational project activities with 52 schools in Zanzibar:
¬ Unguja and Pemba; Supporting day to day project delivery and logistics in Zanzibar:
¬ Unguja and Pemba.Keeping implementation on track and monitoring project budgets;
¬ Recruiting, supervising and working with project volunteers.
¬ Develop a range of new project opportunities with donors and communities.

Key Results Area:
The Advisor’s support will help to ensure:
¬ Monitoring Evaluation and Learning systems serve the donors and internal management systems
¬ The production of consolidated progress reports for internal consumption and to meet donor reporting requirements;
¬ Regular liaison with Sazani Associates UK on progress and issues arising in project implementation and new opportunities.
¬ Their effective participate in regular progress and strategic planning meetings.
¬ Effective liaison with the Data Manager on analysis of existing project evaluation.
¬ The profile of Sazani Associates in Zanzibar is raised through networking and participation in events and conferences;
¬ Events and activities are organised to raise awareness of global and sustainability issues;
¬ Income is generated for new projects through fundraising activities, investigating and bidding for external funding;
¬ The organisation is represented effectively in external meetings and conferences.
¬ Participate in regular progress and strategic planning meetings;
¬ Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
¬ All Sazani Associates employees are expected to be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to their role and may be asked to perform other duties, which reasonably correspond to the general character of their role and their level of responsibility.

Required Qualifications;
o HE qualification in education or international development from a recognised University or Institution (essential);
o Post-graduate qualification in education planning and management or development, planning and management (preferable).

o Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (essential);
o Good budget management skills (essential);
o Good organisational and effective time management skills (essential);
o Excellent ICT skills and digital media literacy (essential);
o Excellent writing and presentational skills (essential);
o A flair for networking with a diverse range of clients (desirable);
o Understanding of international development terminology and issues (essential).
• Ability
o Personnel management skills: ability to delegate, follow-up and supervise as well as support (essential);
o Communication skills; both oral and written (essential);
o Fluency in spoken and written English (essential);
o Ability to work in a team and own initiative (essential);
o Ability to communicate in Kiswahili (desirable);

Subject to the outcome of that meeting a face to face with a number of director will be schedule probably in Cardiff (UK).
