1. Review of Construction Contracts prior to tender submissions.


  • Review tender documents for contractual conditions that should be considered in price        submission
  • Highlight any risk in the tender documents to the company with mitigation measures
  • Assist in preparing and presenting tender submissions
2. Project Execution
  • Work closely with the project execution team to ensure all contractual conditions are being     managed effectively, all correspondence is valid as per the contract.
  • Review and manage contractual risks to the project – these include budgetary risks, time,    change of scope, documentation risks etc.
  • Ensure any design works completed are in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Find solutions to project execution challenges that have a contractual impact to mitigate this risk
  • Review internal contracts that are completed for project procurement needs
  • Be proactive in mitigating any contractual dispute risks
  • Evaluate, review and respond as per the contract to disagreements
3. Contractual disagreements
  • Amicably resolve contractual disputes with a logic driven approach
  • Through effective management, mitigate any future contractual disagreements
4. General responsibilities
  • Implement process and systems that improve our commercial management for contracts
  • Train & Mentor team regarding contractual knowledge and contractual awareness
5. Ideal Experience
  • 15-20 years of professional working experience with a large engineering/construction company in Sub-Saharan Africa or the UAE.
  • Experience with contractual matters and experience in amicably resolving contractual disputes.
  • Expertise in the FIDIC form of contracts.
  • Experience working with African government & quasi government institutions.
