The Aga Khan Education Services in Tanzania operates three schools, from nursery to secondary levels.

Each school aims to provide a quality education that imparts a broad set of

personal and intellectual skills which develops independent inquiry and critical thinking abilities. The origins of the Aga Khan schools in Tanzania go back to the 19th century when a girls' school was started around 1905 in Zanzibar by Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah Aga Khan III.

The focus of AKES in Tanzania is to implement educational programs that are designed to assist students in acquiring life skills as well as an intellectual foundation that will enable them to make their way confidently in a world increasingly characterised by globalisation and technological advancement.

To meet the needs of diverse communities, AKES in Tanzania operates schools which run both National and International curricular.


Aga Khan Education Service, Tanzania (AKES, T), is a private, not for profit, service company registered under the Companies Act and operates three schools in Tanzania. Human Resource Assistant

Position Summary

The Human Resource Assistant will be expected to manage employee records, keep and update files, and pre­pare reports as needed. An organized, detail-oriented work ethic is a must. An HR Assistant is expected to be a conceptual thinker with superb organizational and time management skills. He/she must be reliable and should accurately follow instructions with the ability to multitask and acclimatize in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize, compile, update company personnel records and documentation
  • Assist recruitment of potential applicants based on experience, skills, and education
  • Assist in preliminary interviews of potential candidates
  • Administrative tasks such as performing background checks, filing paperwork, completing employee doc­umentation, recording data on each current employee; maintaining and filing paperwork of terminated or exiting employees
  • Coordinate HR projects such as meetings or surveys
  • Take minutes and detailed notes
  • Assist to organize and manage new employee orientation, on-boarding, and training programs
  • Provide administrative support for HR Manager


Requirements

  • Eager to learn and assist all team members when needed
  • Possesses proficient written and spoken communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Excel and demon­strated skills in database management and record keeping
  • Organized and efficient in daily tasks


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the HR related work
  • Proficiency with Computer Application
  • Conversant with Labour laws
