Job Description
                 Job Title:  Senior Project Accountant

                 Reporting To:  Kizazi Kipya’s Senior Program Manager

                 Project: Kizazi Kipya Project

                 Organization: WAMATA DSM BRANCH

Roles and Responsibilities:

  •  Work as part of a team to implement project activities in accordance with organization and donor policies and procedures and ensure funds are used in line with the purpose
  • Review on-time program expenses against approved budget, program report and deliverables as well as supporting documentation to check for allowability, allocability and
  • Provide on-time grants and financial management technical assistance to program staff
  • In collaboration with KK’s Senior Program Manager prepare on-time monthly/quarterly cash requests and all liquidations to donor; ensure that Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) (at the WAMATA Head Office) approve and endorse them before are submitted to donor
  • Ensure timely tracking and projection of cash
  • Work closely with Program team and other staff members in the compilation of data and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Daily Support and Monitoring of all program Financial & Grants Management Aspects including internal controls and Fraud
  • Carry out other Finance related duties assigned by KK’s Senior Program Manager and WAMATA’s Chief Finance Officer (CFO).



Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting/Finance
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in the finance area, in particular Grant
  • Satisfactory experience in posting of Financial Data in Accounting Experience with quick book accounting package is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in working with Donor funded organizations and managing a functional level in a busy Specifically, Financial experience with a USAID-funded project and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations is strongly desired
  • Audit Experience is an added
  • Proficiency in standard office computer applications, particularly
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication
  • Fluency in English and
