VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Good Samaritan Foundation of Tanzania (GSF) was established in 1962 under Rule no.5 of the Tanganyika's Societies Ordinance of 1954, as a Trustee of Lutheran Church to engage in supporting provision of quality health services In the Northern Zone of Tanzania GSF perform this mission on three main pillars which are healing, training and research. At the moment GSF owns several Institutions devoted on performing various functions related to the provision of quality health care. Some of these institutions include Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC), Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo). Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI) and Kilimanjaro School of Pharmacy (KSP).
At the moment, GSF is on the final stages of the construction of its new students" hostels capable of accommodating more than 500 students at a time.
GSF would like to recruit qualified candidates to fill the following positions for its new student hostel;

Position: CHIEF WARDEN 
Number of positions: 1
Location: Moshi
Duration: 24 months (renewable based on satisfactory performance)
Reporting to: GSF Project Manager
  
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
■ Handle problems of accommodation, catering, health recreation in respect of student in Halls of Residence
■ Make sure that the Allied By-laws and regulations guiding the students' life in halls of residence are being observed and taking necessary action where such By-law or regulations are violated
■ Coordinate the administrative activities of the Warden Halls of Residence
■ In cooperation with the KCMUCo Dean of Students coordinate the counseling service of the Warden Halls of Residence
■ Provide counseling to students
■ Oversee the guest welcome, from enquiry to checkout, to deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
■ In collaboration with the KCMC Office of International Collaboration. manage online booking systems including optimizing bed spaces and gauging availability.
■ identify areas for improvement to the overall products and service within the Hostel and wider promotion of the Hostel.
■ Manage, develop and mentor all Hostel staff and volunteers emphasizing excellent customer service and ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the Hostel.
■ Ensure that all systems, facilities and procedures are in place to comply with legislation and lease provisions, including health & safety requirements and maintenance.
■ In collaboration with the Estate department and Engineering department ensure that buildings, fixtures and fittings remain to the highest possible standard and manage periodic maintenance activities of the buildings and fittings.
■ Liaise regularly with the Directors of Finance and Administration and the Public Relations Officer and Planning Officer to further business development and seek support where required
■ Attends meetings of the Health Committee, Hall Assembly and Hostel Management Committee (HMC).
■ Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by GSF Project manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Education with a bias in Educational Psychology or Social Welfare or possess an Advanced Diploma in Social Welfare or Community Development from a recognized and reputable institution. Relevant working experience in a similar position is an added advantage.

Position: WARDEN
Number of positions: 2
Location: Moshi
Duration: 24 months (renewable based on satisfactory performance)
Reporting to: GSF Project Manager
    
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Assists the Dean of Students in students' counseling and guidance in one's respective Hall of Residence;
• Co-ordinates academic advice for students in his/her respective Hall of Residence in collaboration with academic advisors:
• Co-ordinates students' cultural, recreational and sports activities in his/her Hall of
Residence; Serves as an adviser to students' government at the Hall of Residence level and attends meetings of the Health Committee, Hall Assembly and Hostel Management Committee (HMC)
• Issues permits to students who may experience emergencies that need absences from the Campus for some days:
• Takes care of students' welfare and ensures that the sick are urgently treated and taken care of satisfactorily; and
• Performs any other duties as may be assigned by GSF Project manager.

QUALIFICATIONS 
Applicants should possess a Diploma in Education or Social Welfare or Community Development from a recognized and reputable institution. Relevant working experience in a similar position is an added advantage.
