Job description
Job Purpose
- Partner with business and HR business partners to obtain input for design, develop and deliver meaningful learning solutions while ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of training materials.
- Maintain the Learning Management System environment and ensure adherence to agreed online learning solutions quality based on instructional design and adult learning theories/SCORM/ AICC/xAPI standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create a range of solutions to optimize performance results (e.g., online courses / sites / performance support, simulations, assessments, graphics, video, social media, etc.).
- Manage revisions and updates on all e-learning courses from time to time as per guidelines.
- Customize e-learning courses using existing client and internal source material.
- Ensure content meets learning objectives by assessing, developing, and deploying feedback mechanisms.
- Develop, test, debug, and deploy e-learning, mobile learning, and web application solutions.
- Monitor effectiveness and usability of instructional media elements developed; identify areas of weakness in instructional media or media development processes and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Design web pages (e.g., pages, graphics, animation, functionality) and associated infrastructure and facilitate online instruction and face to face training sessions as needed.
- Design and develop instructional media elements according to established needs, aesthetics, quality standards, budgets and project deadlines.
- Create weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports and feedback evaluations on all e-learning initiatives.
- Revise and evaluate existing courses and make authoring tools or off the shelf online courses purchasing recommendations.
- Recommend hardware or software purchasing regarding web development and ensure governance controls are adhered to in report generation and presentations.
- Identify process improvement areas and draft plans for change implementation and perform periodic course reviews based on identified gaps in either design process, evaluations or changes in the business.
- Assess the shelf solutions quality and standards in meeting learner performance and organizational success.
- Any other work related assignment as assigned by your superior.
Attributes
- Excellent understanding of designing instruction through the use of instructional design theories and adult learning principles.
- Proficiency in e-learning development production and authoring tools such as Storyline 2 and Lectora, Camtasia 8, Adobe suite illustrator & Photoshop. Reclusion Iclone pro 6, 3DXchange 6 pipeline, CC Essential, Corel video studio pro X10, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas and information effectively, clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical and report writing skills.
- Project Management skills.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in ICT, Mediated content development/ B.Sc. Instructional Design and Technology or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing technology-based learning and performance solutions
