Main Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Responsible for all MIS in the Bank (myMBS, HRMS, File server service,CTS, OTRS, MSSQL database)
2. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
3. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
4. Upgrade and configure system software that supports ABT infrastructure applications per project or operational needs.
5. Create, change, and deactivate Bank Information systems user accounts per request.
6. Install, configure and support all Bank Information systems (Core Banking Application,CTS, Swift and Kprinter services, Reporting service, MSSQL database, mobile,Agency )
7. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure add new services as necessary
8. Develop and maintain all system administration installation and configuration procedures.
9. Plan and execute disaster recovery and normal recovery procedures, visual control of hardware equipment – ensure uptime of server
10. Process owner of the CBS Day end and Month End.
11. Maintain and update systems and all necessary procedure documentation
12. Proactive analysis of logging data to help to prevent system down time
13. Daily, weekly & monthly reporting of CBS (Core Banking System)
14. Monitor logging data and report system operating figures and irregularities regularly – communicate system or network events, troubleshoots problems and issues and escalate within organization
15. Responsible for myMBS user support and management of user requests to completion with proper documentation of life cycle from request to User Acceptance Testing
16. Coordinate with the Service delivery coordinator in the preparation of test enviroment, installation and testing of new myMBS release, reviewing release notes, and report problems (bugs) to LFS-IT and migration of new mymBS into the live environment
17. Manage business software and licensing and ensuring Bank compliance on licensing(Microsoft server and CAL, Microsoft SQL server)
18. Plan detailed Backup strategy concept for all the Banking Management information systems(myMBS, Kenex, CTS, Kprinter, Swift,Finger print,mobile, ATM)
19. Responsible for overall IT Software Service Level Management – monitoring the performance of IT services and all related Software components with the view to producing a capacity plan predicting resources needed to achieve agreed service levels.
20. Training of new staff on the policies and procedures on the usage of ICT resources
Person Specification (for recruitment purposes)
  • Necessary experience and knowledge
  • Degree in information technology or business information technology or comparable qualification
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in an operational IT role as an administrator
  • Evidence of sound experience in
  • Server administration (modern MS Windows server (hardware, operation system, MS Office, network connections), patch management, scripting, user administration
  • MS SQL server administration
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Active Directory Network environment, DNS and DHCP
  • IT security tools and methods (firewalls, VPN, TCP/IP)
  • Backup and recovery procedures (sql-database server, operating systems)
  • Problem solving, analytical and process oriented
  • Disciplined approach towards daily operations and documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally in English
  • Ability to take responsibility, work on own initiative
  • Willingness to travel to bank branches throughout the country for installation and administration of server
