We are seeking a Mining Manager: Technical Services: Tanzania. Working for a global Mining Operator, based in Tanzania.
The role is open to both ex pat and local candidates. It will be a FIFO
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- To build, develop, and lead an effective team capable of delivering industry leading practices within the mine planning & technical support functions in order to achieve business objectives/targets.
EXPERIENCE
- BSc Mining / Engineering Degree or equivalent;
- Five (5) to eight (8) years' proven experience in mine planning in both underground or open pit mining environment of which at least three (3) years is at senior supervisory level within a planning/technical department;
- Preferably applicable business qualification (e.g. MBA);
- Be physically fit and be able to pass pre-employment and medical examinations / screening;
- Proficient with Mine Planning Software;
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- Very high skill level with mine planning software
- Ability to create and manage budgets for own team but also the entire site
- Ability to sign off ore reserves as the competent person for the site
- The ability to work across all disciplines, where rigorous engagement and interaction is expected
- The ability to handle conflict resolution
JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Can identify and interpret safety risks and resolve emerging issues; and ensuring that appropriate focus and resources are available to achieve safety objectives.
- Understands key mining processes and has demonstrated the ability to apply it in optimising performance.
- Demonstrate knowledge in production management, tracking, mining dispatch systems, surveying, geology, contract management, drilling & blasting techniques;
- Operational Management
- Understands key processes and systems to drive the best performance from all team members
- Understanding of the key skills & knowledge required by all team members in order to carry out their roles effectively and safely.
- Understands financial reports and comprehends the relevance/impact to the total operation
- Demonstrate advance level of knowledge of planning systems and practices from long term to short term mine planning.
- Strong knowledge in contract management practices and demonstrated ability in managing contracted technical consultants and operational mining contracts.
- Thinks creatively to develop multiple, workable options
- Generates innovative solutions, which continuously improve the performance of existing assets, products, services or processes
- Build, develop and lead the mining planning and technical support teams
- Establish and maintain processes to ensure that all environmental risks and emerging issues are identified and mitigation plans to put in place
- Establish and maintain processes to ensure the development of optimised short term, medium and long terms plans that ensure delivery of the budget requirements and the operations strategy
Offer: USD $ Net Salary. Market related. All ex pat benefits provided
90 days annual leave. Equivalent to FIFO 9:3
