The US Mission in Dar es Salaam is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Supply Clerk at the General Services Section- Warehouse Unit.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Incumbent manages inventory and the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS) for all non-expendable property in the warehouse and other functional space.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Makes appropriate entries into ILMS Asset Management using supporting documentation Records movement of NXP items and maintains accurate inventory notes for all missing/disposed items as well as up-to-date records of all NXP. Maintains accurate location codes, monitors ILMS dashboard and ILMS Analytics to ensure Post is in line with ILMS property management recommendations.
30%
Maintains property condition codes for all office property. Recommends to Accountable Property Officer when there is excessive damage to property. Suggests sales or disposal when property has exceeded useful life or is in poor condition.
10%
Maintains paper files of signed DS 584’s. Assists with property disposal auctions. Prepares DS 132’s within three days of auction closing. Maintains auction close-out files, ensuring that copies are distributed to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  1. Education:
    Completion of Secondary School (form IV) is required. Certificate in Storekeeping or Secretarial duties or Office Management is required.
  2. Experience:
    At least two years’ experience of Office Management, Secretarial, or warehouse work or related duties is required.
  3. Language:
    Level III (good working knowledge) in English and Level IV (fluent) in Kiswahili is required. (This will be tested)
  4. Skills and Abilities:
    Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills, computer skills required and driver’s license class D is required.

  3. Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Employment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
